The most recent allegations come from the group HonestReporting, whose research led the paper to cut ties with freelance producer Fady Hanona, who reportedly was credited on six recent Times stories.
"The New York Times had worked with this freelance reporter only in recent weeks," a newspaper spokeswoman said Aug. 15. "We are no longer doing so."
HonestReporting posted Thursday that freelance photographer Hosam Salem, who apparently is actively contributing to The Times, has expressed joy over Palestinian-Islamic militant group Hamas' actions and the deaths of Israelis at the hands of terrorists, as shown in several translated Facebook posts.
The watchdog group is also calling out the newspaper for having hired Palestinian filmmaker Soliman Hijjy, who contributed to the Times from 2018 to 2021.
Hijjy appears to have praised Hitler on several occasions on Facebook as well.
A Times spokesperson told HonestReporting that it is looking into Hijjy and Salem's social media posts.
